Trying to use my Apple Card

I've just received and authorized my card but my iPhone is an original SE and doesn't have either the side button or face recognition so how do I use it in a store, and online?

Pay with iPhone with Touch ID

To use your default card, rest your finger on Touch ID.
Hold the top of your iPhone near the contactless reader until you see Done and a checkmark on the display.
