Does the SIM card need to be transferred to the new phone before or after the data migration? Are there any steps to activate the new phone with the cell service? There should be an explanation on this article or a link to another article. Thanks.
By personal preference, I recommend that you transfer the SIM card before the migration however make sure that the old iPhone is still connected and active through WiFi.
If the SIM card is active then that is all you need to install in the new iPhone.
