Are my Airpods Fake?

Hey, i bought Airpods 2. Generation which i found promoted on a instagram site that checks the internet for the best deals for different things. (The insta page is legit)

Today i received my Airpods but i wanted to check if they are really authentics. The package itself looks perfectly like the original one (i checks so e websites showing differenced of fake and real packages)

But before i wanted to open them up i wanted to make sure by checking the Serial number printed on the Sticker outside the box.

After typing in it sais:

„We’re sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced. Please check your information and re-enter your serial number. If your information is correct, you may need to contact us.“

Did i receive fake airpods or maybe do i have to active them for the first time? (didn’t want to open them to make it easier to return them)

Quick update:

i just set them up, connection is without problems and you can even rename them, see the battery charge (even of every a single airpod when taking out 1 of them. the orher one is showed charging symbol - see screenshots) and see them in find my phone.

the serial number in the charging case matches the one on the box.

BUT: i don’t find these airpods in settings > general > info!

so these seem to be very good clones! be careful guys!

Hello,

If these are a knockoff then it would be a very convincing knock off. I suggest opening the box to see what is inside. It is possible that the seller just repurposed an official Apple box and added new shrink wrap.

also the inside looks quite good. Only the manual languages are questionable.

The booklet with connection instruction is in english, and 3 chinese / japanese / other asian language. (are these asian version airpods?)

the warranty booklet is in english, and many different asian languages (indian, chinese, etc)

only the safety and handling vontains also frensh and german.

the text of some pages is very bright in comparison to others and the letters are shining silver in the light. there is one page that is printed darker but some things are visible through the paper.all in all, it looks pretty good
