Numbers Import
Is there any hope that IMPORT (Name your flavor - HTML, XML or Range) will be put into NUMBERS This really is an extremely useful feature that should be native. The copy paste routine is just not practical.

SG - Thank you for the response.
Barry - Thank you. A quick search indicates that this has been a community issue for sometime, so I am inclined to think one more use case will not tilt the scale. Back to the alternatives.
I love copy-paste. Why don't you find it practical?
There are ways to use a script to convert formatted data into csv or tsv for import into Numbers.
What is the particular problem you are trying to solve?

If you have more than one person looking at the data, on any given day or better yet - any device - copy-paste does not scale - where IMPORT could be considered an automation feature. Managing data (copy-paste) is different than managing data driven decisions. I am familiar with the script work around but that just does not resolve a basic feature set that the alternatives provide. Still holding out hope...
I'm sorry but I really don't understand what you are driving at. Too much jargon. What is the practical problem you are trying to solve?

Hi TKLEO,
You wrote "Is there any hope that IMPORT (Name your flavor - HTML, XML or Range) will be put into NUMBERS This really is an extremely useful feature that should be native."
You are posting this question in a user-to-user community. While the users of the software and hardware can offer instructions and suggestions on how to accomplish tasks with the software and hardware as it currently exists, they cannot address questions regarding Apple's current or future plans for the software or the hardware involved. Apple provides the space for these discussions. but Apple's participation in these communities is limited to moderation, primarily to ensure adherence to the terms of use, and monitoring by 'Community Specialists,' who check for questions that have received no user responses within a reasonable length of time, and provide a response mostly limited to links to knowledge base articles (usually) appropriate to the question asked.
Questions and suggestions requiring changes to the capability of the software or hardware should be sent directly to Apple, using the Feedback channel. Your closest portal is the Provide Numbers Feedback menu item in the Numbers menu.
Click the menu item, then make a Feature Enhancement request, explaining why and for whom this would be a useful feature to be added to Numbers.
Regards,
Barry

I'm inclined to agree, but I suspect it has more potential to do so than "Still holding out hope..."
