Where can I put a password on my messenger so that I can read the text messages from different people only. At the moment anyone can go to the app and open up

iOS and iPadOS devices are not designed to be multi-user devices, but are instead intended to be used by a single user. As such, for a single user, all your Apps, data and messages are protected by TouchID/FaceID or device passcode.
If you share your device with other users - and they have access to your device passcode - then yes, you have a privacy problem.
