hi there's no iTunes anymore so how do i backup my phone on my computer?

My phone is smashed so I can't use my iPhone to back up, but it still turns on and seems to be responding, so I think that I can plug it into my computer to backup. I used to backup through iTunes, but now that there's no iTunes how does one back up their phone using your computer - or can you just not anymore?
