My iMac continuous to verify All my Microsoft office applications and Tunes.
MY software is up to date on all these. Microsoft updates when there is a change and MY OS is up to date (10.15.5). I do have two external disks, One with Music and pictures on it and another for backup.
I have run disk doctors on the internal disk and the two external disks with no errors report6ed Is there anyway stop this behavior

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
If still a problem...
To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does it work in the new account?

Hi Dan, not quite clear here... how often do they need clarifying?
I meant verifying?
iTunes need to go thru the verification every time I open it . The Microsoft office applications not quite so often

The only program that is continuously verifying is iTunes. and since I don't open it very often I doesn't bother me that much
