As for the Power Adapter (charger), your iPad will usefully benefit from an Apple 12W Power Adapter - this also being useful for your iPhone. Lower wattage Power Adapters will extend charging time; a 5W Adapter, commonly supplied with iPhones, is generally inadequate for iPad. For the stated devices, neither will benefit from use a Power Adapter rated above 12W.
