IPadPro Replacement - online shopping

Hello, I would like to replace my current IpadPro. As the current one has a cracked screen (but works fine) it is not worth anything, so I plan to give it to my son, having wiped my data. Normally I would go into a store to buy and set up a new product. How easy is it/how good are the instructions if I try and do all this without going into a store? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

iPad Pro, 13
