I just got a new IPAD. Not seeking more features etc, but just needed to replace the old one that had a poor battery life.

Did you not restore a backup, or use the device migration to transfer your data and apps from the old one to the new one?

When doing the transfer all your apps, data, email accounts photos etc.. get copied over to the new device.
You can download the Facebook App from the apps store like you did originally on your older iPad.
