catalina wifi issues 10.15.5

I just upgraded to Catalina 10.15.5 and my wifi and my ethernet connection drop every 10-15 seconds and reconnect. I am on a 2019 MacBook Pro that is pretty loaded out. Looking to see if anyone else has this issue before I move back to a prior version.

thanks.

Upgrading my MacBook Pro 2017 to Catalina 10.15.5 caused my Wi-Fi speed to be cut down to almost 0mb. All other devices (iPhone X, iPhone 8, Dell Windows laptop) maintained top speed, so it was not an issue with my ISP or Wi-Fi router.

I tried removing plist items in System Configuration, rebooting PRAM, rebooting Wi-Fi router, changing network location, etc. but nothing worked.

Deleting the Wi-Fi service (go to Apple menu - System Preferences - Network and see list on left side) and then re-adding it back in solved the issue completely and it only took a few minutes. Tip - Click "Advanced" at bottom of Network screen and take screenshots of each tab (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.) before deleting Wi-Fi service so that you can re-add it correctly.

<<my wifi and my ethernet connection drop every 10-15 seconds>>

Make certain your Ethernet Interface is at the top. Packets going to the Internet are sent to the TOPMOST, WORKING interface shown in:

System preferences > network

Use the gear Icon under the list of interfaces to make Ethernet Topmost. When Ethernet is plugged in it will be used. When the cable is NOT plugged in, Wi-Fi will be second and Wi-Fi will be used instead.

There are lots of reasons your Wi-Fi might be dropping out. there is no simple explanation of why your Ethernet would behave similarly, except that you were accidentally using Wi-Fi instead.
