While in iTunes I see an explanation point in a circle next to the song, what does this mean?

That means that iTunes knows about the song but cannot the audio file. It usually happens if the song file, or one of its containing folders, was moved, renamed, or deleted, or if it is on an external drive that is not accessible.


Usually the file is somewhere you can find it (even if you have to look in Trash) and put it back.
