Restore from previous ipad .... losing out on new native apps?

I restored my new 2020 Ipad Pro from the backup of my 2017 ipad. I realise that this sets up the ipad just like the old one. It occurs to me that there might be some apps that a virgin setup adds that I will be missing out on.

I'd appreciate any pointers on what they may be and how can install them as painlessly as possible?

Thanks

Jeff

Here is a list of all the native, pre-installed apps on a new iPad Pro. The Measure app is native, and should be there already.

Thanks. I'm sorry that my question wasn't clear.

If you set up a new Ipad by simply switching it on it will presumably install a number of new apps that take advantage of the new improved features of the latest ipad range that wouldn't work on the earlier ranges. If you restore then I'm asking what would have been on a virgin initial setup on the latest range that might not be there or even perhaps replaced by an older app optimised for the older ipad.

I can only install apps from the app store if I know what they are. Also there may be some that are not available from the store and are simply unique to an initial clean virgin install.

No, your question was clear, but perhaps you didn't understand my answer. When you get a new iPad, the native apps which come pre-installed on ALL new iPads are already there and even if you restore that new iPad from the backup of a previous iPad, none of the new apps on the new iPad will be deleted. You'll just be installing the data and apps you had on the previous device to the new device and it does NOT take the new device backwards.

Many thanks. I hadn't understood it. I wrongly presumed it wiped it clean of everything and started completely from scratch. Like restoring a PC.

I asked only because I do not see any new apps that wasn't on the old one. For example I see something on Youtube about it using the new "magic eye" to measure. I see no measuring app. I presumed that there were some new apps missing.

Thanks again

Thanks - yes I have it and the pencil. The keyboard is great. I also bought a logi pebble and some paperlike - and I am determined to learn theProcreate app. I had it on my old ipad but never had the patience to learn.

I learned early in life that whilst I always complain about spending money I always complain even louder later on when I regret not having spent that bit more. The pain of paying the cash leaves you much more quickly than the frustration at not buying everything. My old 2017 ipad was still fine but getting a little sticky here and there and so I decided to confine it to the bedroom and I bought the top-end 1tb model.

Now I'm trying to work out how to transfer my music from my Samsung SSD T5 onto the ipad without itunes and where the music folders should be placed so the music apps find them. But tommorow is another day.

Thanks again for your patience.
