I am unable to update/restore my loked iPad mini, but have logged into iTunes online.

I am unable to update/restore my iPad mini, and it states; iPad is disabled, connect to iTunes. But, it fails when I try and update through iTunes.

Hi My ipad mini is disabled when I connect it to itunes the ipad does not allow access to itunes to update anything just keeps stating connect to itunes My ipad mini is disabled when I connect it to itunes the ipad. Itunes comes up with please allow access via ipad to update, but the ipad does not recognise this. Tried to manually go on itunes but cant see back up button. Advice please
