My iPad has been disabled. I never backed it up to iTunes and I tried restoring it but it's saying firmware is not compatible so it can't be restored. Please advise?

How do I enabled my iPad even though I never backed it up on iTunes? When I tried to restore it, it gives me a message saying that the firmware is not compatible.

Hello,

Unfortunately you must now fully restore your iPad to factory settings.
