Can individual files be transferred from a TimeMachine backup disk of an old MacBook to a new MacBook Pro Catalina or does it have to be a full transfer of everything on the disk.

how do I use the storage device back up info from old MacPro to select info to transfer to new MacBook Pro? I want to transfer some data from my old MacBook Pro to my new MacBook Pro.
