Can I buy iphone 4 in Hongkong and use it in USA

From what I remember, iPhones sold in Hong Kong are factory unlocked, so yes...you could use it anywhere in the world without issue.

However, if it breaks you can only get support for it in the country you purchased it in...which in my opinion is stupid.

Whether it works in the U.S. will depend on your Hong Kong carrier....

All iphones sold from official sources in Hong Kong are unlocked & will work on any GSM carriers network with the appropriate activated sim, including the USA. Note however, warranty & support are country specific & the phone would have to be returned to Hong Kong for any and all warranty & support issues. Make sure you purchase from an official source, non-official sources hack the phone to unlock it(their prices are often cheaper) and this will lead to nothing but problems.
