airpods acting up

my airpods are acting up. only one is connecting while i can still hear static in the other. i put them back in the case and restarted them but it didn’t work. i disconnected them from all my devices and at one point one airpod was connected to my macbook and the other to my phone and i heard two complete different audios. then the airpods wouldn’t connect at all and it would show up as sharing audio. right now the right one is connected while i can hear static in the left. i’ve restarted my phone, tried changing the audio on the airpods, disconnected my airpods but nothing worked.
