Is Firefox safe on a Mac?

Are there any serious safety issues in using Firefox on a Mac?

imac(Intel), MacBook Pro, MacMini, Ipad, Ipod, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

HI,

Safari offers more security then Firefox but it's always good to have a back up browser just in case. I use Firefox on occasion.

I just wanted to research it before using it. In other words, can I just download it and use it just like Safari without any particular safety concerns? Are there any special settings or other safety issues that I need to employ while using Firefox. Or can I simply use it?

Just use it.
You could try Camino too.
They're both good.
