How do you transfer photos from Macbook pro to iPad?

Most of the posts and answers to this question are several years old and I'm hoping there is an easier way to transfer photos from my MacBook Pro to my iPad. My plugin for Lightroom to post images on Instagram doesn't work so I want to post from my iPad.
