Apple AirPort Time Capsule (3TB Storage) and Win 10, 2004

Hello friends,

I have an Apple AirPort Time Capsule (3TB Storage) that is pretty awesome as a router/base station.

However, there is also a Win 10 (2004) PC that uses the same wireless connection hosted by/on the Airport yet somehow I am unable to see/connect to the storage on the Airport.

Our old (now retired) Win 7 PC had no trouble with the Airport.

I suspect this is a Win 10 question, not an Airport question.

Any help is appreciated. Kind regards, Joe

Correct. The Time Capsule uses ancient.....and non-secure......SMB1 communication protocols. Microsoft does not include support for SMB1 by default in Windows 10......for very good security reasons. More info here:

Apple is selling mesh systems from Netgear, Linksys and Eero in their stores and online, so I would be very surprised to see any new AirPorts in the future.

A good high quality router from Synology or Asus would allow you to connect a USB port to the device and back up / store data that way. These products also support Apple Time Machine backups as well.
