book I purchase in book store, after I updated to Catalina 10.15.5 the images don't show up. some books show images, others don't. I opened the same books in my iPhone and im able to see the images in the iBook iOS app. so must be bug in Catalina. PLEASE FIX THIS APPLE!!!

FWIW, I can confirm the issue. I downloaded the sample of the book in question. The images are visible in Mojave but not in Catalina. I don't know anything you can do about it other than send Apple a bug report from the feedback page. Just change the feedback type.

Having the ability to identify and view images of your books is certainly important. We'll be happy to help.
If you haven't tried yet, we recommend to restart your Mac: Log out, sleep, restart, or shut down your Mac This can help resolve unexpected behavior.

Hi Brenden, Thanks for your reply. Ive done all these steps already. I have a MacBook air 2015 and iMac 2013 iPhone xs
I have also deleted the book and re-downloaded them.
I have no issues with the book in the iPhone, but on both the iMac & air the images don't show up.
Leading me to believe that the Catalina iBook version is at fault.
