Is it possible for me to hook my Apple Pay to an account and routing number rather than a debit card?

I lost my debit card and need to figure out a way to pay for necessities without needing a card (on the off chance I misplace it again). Is it possible for me to hook my Apple Pay to an account and routing number rather than a debit card?

I would really like to set my Apple Pay up that way it would help with traveling!!

that is not possible. Apple Pay is just a contactless way to pay with a physical card. Apple Cash use a virtual card and is connected with your bank account. If you are over 18 and in the USA you can use that.
