Also note that Apple only supports Unicode Kannada. Keyboards and fonts are provided for that already. Old legacy ascii encoding fonts and apps may not work right, and the stuff they produce will not be readable on other Apple devices unless the user goes to the trouble of downloading special fonts. Stay with standard Unicode Kannada if at all possible, that way every computer can read it without any extra work.
