My wife bought a new SE 2020 two days ago and the store clerk transferred all her data from her old iphone to her new SE 2020 iphone. But when my wife tried to call out she was told that her new phone was not connected. I checked in Settings/My number in her phone and her phone number is not there and i was not able to enter her new number. Can you help?
“The store clerk” ... at what type of store? An Apple Store? A cellular carrier store? Something else?
Was the SIM card transferred from her old iPhone? Is her cellular carrier aware she is changing phones?

The iPhone 6 and iPhone SE 2020 do use the same size SIM card.

There is no requirement the very same SIM card be used. It all depends on how you set things up with your wife’s cellular carrier.

SIM cards have no effect on Apple data.
But you absolutely need your cellular carrier’s guidance regarding how to proceed.
