Why does my iPad show about 4gb tied up in “other” storage?

A bloated other often indicates some corrupt data on your device. The best method to get rid of it is to backup your iPad, then restore your iPad from backup. I have helped countless people I know eliminate their "other" by doing this.

Yes, that worked more or less. Cleared up 2gb by doing that- I still think the 2gb on hold still from the “other” category is a bit excessive- any other ideas would be appreciated
