Is there a way to open an alias in the iCloud from the files App on my iPad?

I created an alias of a folder in my Mac OS document folder that is located on the desktop of my Mac. I can see it from the Files App on my iPad and iPhone but the iOS Files App doesn’t know how use it. Are aliases not supported yet? Will they ever be supported?

I already turned on synchronisation via iCloud for Books on my tablet and they take up space in the iCloud, so I am certain, that it is the connection from the iCloud to my WindowsPC that is causing the issue here. Looking forward to read papers in a mater of seconds soon :)
