Solution to error 14 that doesn't delete your data?

Is there a way to find out if apple is actually working on a solution to error 14 that doesn't delete your data? Ive found tons of people having the same issue where they didn't back up their data like me. Restoring seems to be apples fix all for everything.

This is what Apple suggests if you see error 14: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204770#usb. I don’t see anything about deleting your data.
