Trade-in for a refurbished MacBook

Can I trade in my old MacBook Pro for a refurbished one? The option is there if I want to buy a new one but I don't see it in the refurbished section.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.14

This is a community of end users and we cannot provide an "official" answer. I can find no mention of trade-ins for refurb computers on Apple trade-in page. However, looking at the refurb page

Certified Refurbished Products - Apple

it appears trade-ins are accepted. This is near the bottom the refurb main page:

You'll need to contact Apple additional information on how to make it work with refurbs.

Hey there, nerdgeek.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! Thanks for your question about trading in your Mac and being able to purchase another. We'd be glad to help you out with that.

Apple Trade In can be done either at an Apple Store if one is open near you or by starting the process on your own online. Check out the link for more info about how the program works and for ways to get an estimate on your trade in. The result of a successful trade in grants you an Apple Store Gift Card that can be used either at an Apple Store or the Apple Online Store for whatever you'd like to buy.

Hope that helps.

Have a great day.
