symbols on photo library thumbnails
what do symbols on photos mean. It looks like a little key - vertical in upper right corner of thumbnail

You can pull up a key in the Photos Help window, but they can be pretty tiny.
If you mean the one that looks like a "map tack" (filled circle with a thin vertical tail), that means the picture has location data.
