How do you quickly save large video files from the latest iPad Pro 2020 to a usb 3 stick or back up drive?
How do you save large video files from the latest iPad Pro 2020 to a usb 3 stick or back up drive without the iPad crashing or files disappearing and being corrupted?
I can save the odd few photos or a small video but it takes ages but when I try to save large 4K video files or backup multiple files to a usb 3 back up drive it just fails and usb C sticks and hubs usually overheat.
The only way I can back up DCIM folder files on the iPad is via usb on a Win 10 PC by copying the files via Windows Explorer onto my usb 3 backup drives.
I don’t use iTunes as I hate it! The transfer speed is really slow despite having usb 3 but is much faster than using usb drives on their own with the iPad and using Apples file app!
FYI I ran a few tests with different usb drives.
Via usb 70GB took 14 minutes from my usb backup drive to a 7 year old Win 10 PC.
Via usb 70GB took well over an hour from my new iPad Pro to a 7 year old Win 10 PC.
On the iPad Pro via usb 3GB took over half an hour to a hi speed usb c memory stick which becomes very hot and often fails or corrupts.
iCloud is impractical as I live in the Highlands with limited slow broadband and mobile data coverage.
I have now bought several hi speed Sandisk usb c drives and they all have problems with the iPad file transfer and get very hot.
Is my iPad Pro faulty as surely the so called most powerful and fastest tablet in the world costing around £1000 can’t be slower and less capable than a cheap sub £100 android tablet or phone at transferring via usb?
