usb hub with ipad pro

I have a macbook pro hooked up to a Dell USB C which is connected to 2 monitors and my keyboard.

I want to be able to plug my ipad pro into the dock via USB C and be able to use the keyboard thats connected to the dock with both my laptop and the ipad.

Is this possible?

A USB keyboard can only be connected to - and used with - a singe device.

If you connect both the keyboard and your iPad via a USB Hub to a PC or Mac, the USB connection should associate the keyboard with the device that is operating as the USB Root Controller (typically, this should logically be the PC/Mac).
