Change of new aol password not recognized

did all u said to the previous client - restart phone (the new 11) , looked at the settings. Like like things have changed. Can u respond w more details

also I made a mistake and press send before I wrote a text. So wrote it in the text area and that fucking thing does not recognize it. Tried few times and had to go back. Little less patience. Spent lot of money on new iPad Pro and new phone. Should not be this difficult. Was easier on iPad

There are thousands of posts a day in this user-to-user forum; it is the busiest support forum on the Internet. So there’s no way anyone reading your post can have any idea what you have seen previously or what you have tried to resolve the problem.

I think you have an AOL email account, and you want to add it to the email app on the iPhone. If my guess is wrong please correct my assumption. To add an email account go to Settings/Passwords & Accounts and tap Add Account. Tap AOL and enter your AOL username and password. However, if you have 2 factor authentication on your AOL account you will first have to log on to AOL.com via the web and create an “application specific password” and use that password instead of your regular AOL password for the built-in email app on the iPhone. AOL has instructions in their help section on how to do that.

If you have already tried to add it once first delete the account by going to Settings/Passwords & Accounts, tapping on it, and tapping Delete. Then restart your phone (Restart your iPhone - Apple Support) and start over.

The alternative is to not use the built in email account. Instead go to the App Store and download the free AOL mail app and set it up. It knows all about 2 factor authentication for AOL.

For this forum if you don’t enter any text before hitting “post” the box will turn red. However, you can still enter your question and hit post even though it is red. That happens to me also sometimes when I’m in a hurry. Alternatively, you can hit Cancel and start over.

I didn’t say anything about the previous client. If you had a conversation with someone else no one in this user-to-user forum has any idea what you were told.

Your second paragraph about what appears to be an unrelated text issue is totally incomprehensible.

For your AOL issue, did you change your AOL password on some other device, then try to get it to work on a new iPad? Or did you change it on the iPad? Please try to explain all of the steps you tried and what the result was.

Wow! There was a question like mine in a previous comment as I googled this question and read the response on this site.

like I said before - nothing new one of ur comedies responded. Turn the phone on and of and go to settings find mail, contacts. Etc - I only See Mail now there and it does not have any options.

i changed my password in my passwords section in settings for email ( it works when I get on web browser not in the email app ) then tried what I mentioned above and it still is not working. Whether u understand or not please give me detailed instructions.

the next paragraph was about this site . When I started filing up the question I pressed by mistake post and it told me I have to write the question as the box turned pink. I did and it did not recognize the text. I am not technological person and it got pretty frustrating.

and I added that after I spent lot of money on iPad Pro and new phone this should not be that difficult.

and please whether u understand or no. Give me the directions please

Go to Settings, then scroll down to Passwords & Accounts. It should be right above the Mail menu. It's a grey icon with a white key.

Do you see your AOL account listed? If not, click Add Account and try to sign into your AOL account there.

Generally, accounts are added through the Passwords & Accounts menu. The Mail menu has settings for controlling how the Mail app behaves.
