not downloading to my pc

I want to have all my photos downloaded from iCloud to my Windows 10 computer. I'm currently using the iCloud 11.2 program. With previous versions of iCloud 7.x this wasn't a problem. With the newer version of iCloud the program stops after only about one third of the photos are synchronised with my computer. There's plenty of free space on the hard drive so that's not the problem. Are there any workarounds for this? In addition I also want to store the photos in a different file location, I can't see where this can be changed on the newer iCloud software.

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to get all your photos that are in iCloud to your Windows computer. To help with this, please see if the steps in this Apple resource help with getting these missing photos:

As far as changing the location, please change this in the iCloud Photos Options in iCloud for Windows and here is more info:

I have the same issue. In my file explorer i do not have a favorites. i do see icloud photos listed but there is is no download option/button anywhere. also in my options for photos in the icloud settings there is no option to change the download location on my pc. I cannot find a way to download my icloud photos to my pc. i can go to icloud photos and see them.

I have the same issue. The last picture that downloaded to my PC was on created on 4/12/2020.

Nothing I have read tells me how to restart to get the new pictures.

I need help also.
