Getting photos off broken ipad

I have an old iPad Air (original or 2...not sure which). I slammed it in a car door a few years ago. The display is totally destroyed (looks like a lava lamp), however, I can see some backlight when it powers on so I think it is still somewhat alive. Is there a way I can get the pictures off? What software should I use? I have a PC only. I only need the photos off of it. And they are not in my iCloud. Thank you!

i can’t import because I can’t allow the iPad to trust the computer due to the destroyed screen. Any way around that?

Plug it into a PC. See if it comes up or if you can see to trust the computer.

Then navigate via your windows explorer to the iPad and DCIM folder and try to drag it over.

Be aware, I’ve been able to get photos off my ipad but it does error out when I try to pull videos off

so if the ipad screen functions enough for you to be able to tell it to trust the computer you may want to ignore any videos and try for photos only
