Factory resets and malware

I posted this same thing yesterday, but I got no replies, so I'll say again.

From a previous post, I've learnt that it isn't completely impossible for the iPhone to get malware that IS NOT jailbroken, right? If malware was on the iPhone, would factory resets delete everything?

Yes and no... The only way you could get something if it's not jailbroken would be to install a management profile that pushed out an app. This is intended for developers to use for testing prior to publication in the App Store and for corporations deploying in-house apps. The management profile potentially gives the issuer almost complete control over your device.

Restoring iOS and setting it up as a new device would eliminate any management profiles.
