APSF does not show up in Disk Utility

I would like to make a bootable copy of my McIntosh HD under OS X 15.5 onto a 128MB flash drive using SuperDuper 3.3.1. When I open Disk Utility and select erase for the before mentioned flash drive, APFS does NOT show up as a format option. I have clicked on "view" and selected show all, but APFS still does NOT show up.I have looked at all the answers that came up for someone else's similar post, but there was no clear answer to this question. Can anyone help?

You have to change the Partition Map of the drive to GUID.

From the View button, choose Show All Devices.

Select the Device (not a volume on the device), then Erase.

Choose GUID Partition Map, then APFS format.

If it still doesn't show, format as Mac OS Extended, then erase again and choose APFS.

Follow the How to erase your disk section, but you don't need to boot from Recovery. That would only be if you are erasing the startup drive.
