Audio devices problem

I have my Mac Book air 2018 connected to my monitor as well as a keyboard and mouse. I use a kind of desktop set up with it. But the speakers on my monitor intervene with all my other audio devices and it causes all kinds of problems. I will plug in my headphones into my Mac and then they will keep on being disappearing in my list of audio devices along with my Mac air speakers. This problem happens with air pods too.

Does anyone have an answer to solve this question it is a problem that has been bugging me for a long time now.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Reset the SMC and NVRAM:

Sometimes changes are made to the system (i.e. updates) and then system settings (i.e. for Ports) become manipulated, technically. So try resetting the SMC and NVRAM on your Mac.
