Delete the photo people see when I call them

I want to know how to delete the photo people see when I call them. Apparently a photo shows up on their phone when I call them. I don't want my photo to show up.

Your photo does not show up on the cellphones of other folks.

Those photos are yours, from your contacts, and shown only to you.

If you want to have a caller show up as a cat, set that cat image as the image in your contacts card for that caller.

Same as setting a ringtone. The ringtone you use is not the ringtone that will be used by others receiving your calls.

Which means the folks you’ve set to the Yakety Sax ringtone won’t know it.

Not unless they happen to call you while you’re nearby.

Put slightly differently: The telephone network can’t currently contend with the deluge of spam and scam calls now, do you honestly believe telephone network be able to pass around caller’s photos without all of us soon being deluged with unseemly images?

Its entirely possible if they have their contacts linked to social media and they have you as a friend or contact in that social network, that the photo could be coming from there.

But yes, you don't really have much if any control over pictures on other people's devices.

They would need to go into their contacts and see where that photo is set from. It is not coming from your device when you call them that much is certain.

kellykaz Said:

"That is what I thought but when I call some people they say that their whole screen is a photo of me and they sent me the photo and I am not sure where they are getting it from. They say they never put it under my contacts and that it just started showing up"

Contact your carrier - It could be a glitch on their part (Something the FCC should most certainly be made aware of, IMO).

Reinstall the iOS: If you restore your iPhone to factory settings that might fix this. But backup up you iPhone first.

This information is incorrect.

Please do not contact the carrier.

The carrier is not involved, nor is the US FCC.

Nor will a reset address the contacts information displayed on an unrelated phone.

Somebody needs to look at the configuration of the call-recipient’s phone.

Again, the carrier is not involved here, nor are there carrier glitches.

This is entirely local to and on the call recipient’s device.

How that photo got loaded is the only question, and the carrier can see that no better than we.

I’d assume you’re either getting gaslit here, or they’re unfamiliar with the phone or its tools, and/or they didn’t go look.

Via Family Sharing of contact data, or from the contacts entry on some connected corporate contacts server, maybe?

Or somebody else has helped with the set-up the call recipient’s phone.

Again, many of us would be presented with rude images, if the caller was permitted to provide the display image.

Nobody is restricting anything. Nor wanting to restrict anything. Nobody has mentioned anything about wanting to restrict their number.

The OP is calling a person and that person is seeing a picture of them on their own phone.

The OP has not stated they do not want their number shown on the recipient's device. They have stated only that they wish to know how their picture is being seen when they call.

This has nothing to do with the carriers at all. Its not about the number being shown or not. Its about a picture being seen by the recipient.
