iPhone 6 Life Expectancy

Hello!

I have a iPhone 6, bought when it came out.

Yeah, it has battery problems because it drains so fast, and some apps that I would like to use are no more supported BUT I still think this is the best iPhone ever, THANK YOU APPLE!

Well then, aside from this...

I would like to make a question, a particular question, hypothetically speaking!

So, my iDevice has more or less 6 years of intense using. But now, there is one thing that scares me: is there a chance that the iPhone one day shuts down and never turn on again? I mean, this can be a stupid question because all machines have the same destiny, but... is there a high chance OR this “Shut down forever” problem can come only 10 years or so?

I use the iPhone a lot during the day, I even play, and it goes overheating, but my sessions don’t last more than 2-3 hours (in total during a day, but not all together). I normally charge it 3 times.

Keep in mind that I have been using this iPhone in this way for all those years.

So, my question is: always hypothetically speaking, how many years do you think my iPhone will last with this usage?

Its impossible to say.

Some phones would probably last a further 5 or more years with that use.

But its all up to statistics, I do not have any info on how long an iPhone 6 will last, I doubt many have if any, and if they do it might not be public.

My best advice would be to make sure to keep your phone backed up.

Another important note is that after a while iOS 12 might not get security updates anymore making it more dangerous to use online.

Good luck!
