Import MP3 Files In Filename Sorted Order

Hi Ed2345,

We have all 158 mp3 files in a folder that we can get to in Finder. We need to import them into a Playlist in Music.

Importing is not an issue....keeping the file names intact when they are imported is the issue because we are no longer able to sort the imported sound files the way we want to.

Why is Music changing the files names? For example, the files names before import are:

001 - <audio name>.mp3

002 - <audio name>.mp3

003 - <audio name>.mp3

After they are imported they become.

<audio name>.mp3

<audio name>.mp3

<audio name>.mp3

....and we lose the sorting we want....not to mention having to manually move 158 songs in the playlist the way we want them.

Before we do that...quick question...because we are not well versed in the Music App.

Theoretically, what we'd like to see would be LIBRARY > SONGS > FOLDER1 or LIBRARY > SONGS > FOLDER 2....this way when we import sound files, they go directly into a folder that we can find what we want.

From what we're seeing, it seems like everything gets dumped into LIBRARY > SONGS and then you have to figure out how to put things into Playlists. That seems horribly inefficient....unless there is a way to import directly into a Playlist?

Not sure we're quite understanding the organizational structure of the Music App.
