replacement phone

My phone had a hardware problem ( according to Apple) so they replaced it with a new one of the same model. However the replacement phone has less memory/storage than my original phone. Is this normal? I would have thought they would give me the same model and storage capability as my original phone. Was I just tricked?

Did you set up the iPhone "As new device", before you started restoring from the backup?

If you receive an error while restoring from an iCloud Backup

If you’ve already attempted to restore your device, and you’ve received an error, you’ll want to do the following:

  1. Erase the device and set it up as new.
  2. Check your software version and confirm that it’s up to date.
  3. Confirm that you’re connected to Wi-Fi.
  4. Erase the device and try to restore from your iCloud backup again.
  5. If you still need help, contact Apple Support.
