MacBook Pro to iPad Pro using USB-C cable for extended display

Instead of using sidecar, can connect my iPad Pro and MacBook Pro using a USB-C cable and use the iPad as an extended display?

iPad Pro 12.9-inch, 2nd Gen, Wi-Fi

Hi,

I think you can't do that, you need to use Sidecar to extended display of your MacBook Pro.
