I can’t take or save photos

Any time I take a picture, the camera app freezes and doesn’t save the picture. I generally have to take a screenshot to save the picture. It’s updated to 13.5.1... I don’t know how to fix this. I have plenty of memory!!

Hi Rosieerooo,

I understand you are unable to take photos on your iPhone.

First, I would recommend you Restart your iPhone.

If the issue persists, force close your Camera app and try again. You can learn how to do so here: If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open.

If the issue persists further, I would recommend you ensure you have a backup of your data, then Restore your device. You can learn how to do so here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings.

Once Restored, I would recommend you Setup As a New Device (not restore your backup).

If resolved, go ahead and Restore your backup.

If the issue recurs once your backup is restored, there may be an issue your user data, in which case I would recommend you sync your content to a service such as iCloud, then erase your device and Setup As a New Device - all synced data will return, though you will need to re-download your apps and adjust your user settings to your preference.

Hope this helps!
