freezing problem

my mac book air freezes up when i am on the internet and i have to turn the internet off and then turn it back on to stop the freezing, this does not happen to my iPad, help

Try these two steps one at a time and see if that helps.


  1. Reset SMC by following the directions applicable to your MacBook here ➔ How to Reset SMC. If that does not solve things then-
  2. Reset NVRAM/PRAM by following the directions applicable to your MacBook here ➔ How to Reset NVRAM/PRAM.

Does this happen at random? Does it happen at any particular website? Which browser do you use?

Have you reset the SMC and NVRAM as shown in my initial response? Which MacBook Air do you have? Which macOS are you running? Please provide some answers and we will try and work at resolving your issue. Thanks.

When you state that you MacBook Air is freezing, are you just losing internet till you disconnect and connect to WiFi again OR is your MacBook Air freezing where the screen totally freezes and you cannot enter or make any input? Which browser are you using when you are on the internet? Please give us a complete example of how this happens and what you do to correct it. I ask because, at this point, I am unable to recommend any actions based on what I know.
