Why does my IPhone 11 Pro get hot only when I’m in certain spots?

Hi! I’ve found that my iPhone 11 Pro heats up very quickly when I’m sitting in my backyard, but not when I’m in the house. I have great WiFi but only 2 bars LTE in house and backyard. The phone gets really hot within 10-15 min of being outside while being used. Anyone have the same issue? What could be the problem? Any help would be great. Thanks!

Hi chewyn7,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like your iPhone heats up when you use it outside. We’re happy to help.

This information is detailed but does not apply to my issue. Temperature can range between 65 and 90, and my phone will still get hot in that same spot where I sit. It’s not about the app I’m using either (usually Facebook/messenger/ email) because I also use those apps indoors and the phone does not heat up. I am baffled. Please advice.
