Serial number
Hello is there a place on the website I can find out if the device is original or not?

Original? Not sure what you’re looking for, there...
The first letter of the model number identifies new devices (M), engraved devices (P), refurbs (F), and replacements (N), if that’s what you're looking for.
If it’s showing up as “replaced”, I wouldn’t purchase it. From what’s posted around the ‘net, that iPhone probably shouldn’t be available for sale.
RUN AWAY.
If the serial number is invalid, it may indicate a counterfeit product.
If the serial number is valid, but is for a “replaced” product, the device technically belongs to Apple, not someone that is attempting to sell it.
Buy it.
Or not.
Me? I would not purchase this.
I would run away from this deal.
But this is your money, your decision.
If you do decide to purchase, ensure that it’s not Activation Locked, etc:

For Thought:
If this modification is not mentioned on the sale, this may be considered a scam.
If you got it through use of a Web site (i.e. eBay), then contact the site, viewing their Terms & Conditions, seeing if you can get your money back and if the seller can be held liable for a scam sale.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding:
The serial number was modified, was it not? If so, depending on the site, this may have had to be mentioned by the seller.
Elsewise, put my reply aside.
Ok thanks. What does it mean when a serial number has been replaced?
You’re welcome.
That message indicates the device was supposed to have been returned to Apple as a warranty return or for other reasons.
Alright so if I were to purchase a Apple device from someone without that serial number working it’s ok to purchase it or not?
What I want to understand is if the serial number is invalid would you recommend me to purchase that Apple device from someone?
