Magic Keyboard: Does it need to be charged?

So I just got an iPad Pro 11” second gen and the accompanying magic keyboard. It has a USB-C port on the keyboard itself. Is this just for ease of plugging in, or does the keyboard have a separate battery and need charging?

In other words, does Magic Keyboard have its own battery, or does it just draw on the iPad’a power?

Hello,

Magic Keyboard does not contain its own battery. It is powered off of iPad’s battery. The USB-C port on Magic Keyboard allows iPad’s charger to be connected to the keyboard rather than to iPad itself.
