Apple-tv app on Samsung tv suddenly stopped working

My Apple-tv app on Samsung tv suddenly stopped working today. It won't open. I tried to reinstall it but get an error message 125059. All the other apps are working fine. What is wrong?

I called Apple first who told me to contact Samsung. Samsung told me to reset Smart Hub and pull out the plug for 30 minutes. This did not help. I called them back and they did factory reset from remote support. And then they told me to leave the tv unpluged for one hour. I doubt it will work. I think it is Apple who has problems.

This seems to be an issue with the TV. (I think!). If you look at Samsung’s support page, there is a developing thread on this issue - https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Qled-and-Frame/Prime-video-Apple-Music-and-TV-not-working/m-p/1294012#M8338

As yet, no fix from Samsung. Seems also to be affecting particularly new TVs. I opened mine yesterday, so is a bit frustrating to be non functioning after less than a day. Hopefully either Samsung or Apple (or Amazon?) could come out with a fix here...

Seems to be spreading

I have a QE65Q85R, with software version 1356.

Earlier today, I bought several movies on Apple+

This evening, it still seemed to work just fine.

Then, unexpectedly, at 22:00 CET it wouldn't open.

All the other apps worked just fine, so I reset the smart hub (as instructed by the default Samsung support pages).

But now when i click on the app, I get error code 125059 -- like so many of you.

Im glad I found this page, cause it was driving me nuts, couldn't figure it out.

I dont think its related to new models and/or updates.

Mine is a 2019 model, 6 weeks in my house. There hasn't been an update since May.

Good luck all

I've had my Q80 for 2 months now and this is the first time this has happened, think this is down to something Samsung's broken at their end, yesterday Amazon Prime, Apple TV & Music were fine today they all try and reinstall, checked and the last update to Prime and Apple Music was the 1st June and the last update to Apple TV was 18th June so it's not an update from those companies that caused the issue, on my quick menu I can see all 3 installed but in the Samsung App Store they're not showing on my list of installed apps, looks like Samsung's somehow deleted the back end of the apps and they're supports pointing the finger at everyone else.

(Work-around provided)

I just posted this solution on the Samsung TV forum as well:

I’ve been waiting on hold for Samsung support...they haven’t picked up the line. App was uninstalled by a full factory reset then continued to fail to install with same error as before (125059). I went back and clicked reinstall on all the built in apps all at the same time and then tried and retried the AppleTV repeatedly and magically it showed as installed about 5min later. Then it launched and everything is default but working. Hope this works for others

Still wasn’t working for me today.

Did this and now is working again on 2020 50” Samsung Frame.

Different TVs have different menus though so my by model specific solution.

Select Apps tile from the Home menu and launch it.

Select Settings cog from top right hand side of screen.

Select app that isn’t working and push down to select Reinstall.

Click OK on remote to reinstall and a green circle with % installed value in the centre should appear.

Once reinstalled try relaunching.

Worked for me on Prime and AppleTV when all other fixes suggested had failed.

Hope it works for some of you still without services.
