I would still go by the fact that the graphics card has failed, these are easy to replace yourself.

Depending on what you use the MacPro for you can get the stock Nvidia GeForce GT120 512MB card

that you can pick up very cheap.

Here is an example, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-NVIDIA-GeForce-GT120-512MB-Graphics-Card-Apple-Mac-Pro-MC002ZM-A/164171620442?hash=item263964205a:g:xGAAAOSw2aJeoavM

Other graphics cards are available from a few hundred bucks to a lot more so it is important to do your research,

try and get a Mac Edition card or 'flashed' for mac, these cards will give you the start up screens and Startup Manager.

You can use PC graphics cards in a Mac Pro but you will not get any of the start up screens or access to the Startup Manager.

The mac will boot directly to the login screen or Desktop.

The more expensive the card the more graphics processing power it will do, 3D modelling UHD video editing etc

so depending on what task you are wanting your MacPro to do you can match a card to your needs and budget.

Replacing the card yourself is easy and does not take long.

Then your Mac is working.

The chime is generated in software after the Power-on Self Test passes, and Processor, Boot ROM, RAM, and most other stuff is working.

In this case, you issues may be limited to the display, cables, or graphics card, which is easily replaceable. If you can do a memory upgrade without trashing your computer or drawing blood, you can replace the graphics card yourself.

Why don't you tell us what is happening with your Mac Pro, it may be simple enough to

get it going again, these macs are pretty bulletproof.

Going to an Apple Authorised Service Provider (or is it Approved, can't remember)

could just leave you with a hole in your bank account for nothing.

When you press the power on button what happens, do you get any screens at all, some detail would be nice.

I’m going back to 2018 so please bear with me. I press the button, I see a black screen, I lose my mind. I think I’m the crazy one and try again. Black screen. I check out all the combinations I’ve seen online (using another computer). E.g., Press this and that together or one after the other, etc., and try them, but I get nothing but a black screen. We DID hear things — chimes and fan, we THINK — but after confirming with geek guy that it was the computer and not the monitor, we put it away and went to alternatives. What saved us was the external hard drive with everything on it — thank you, Time Machine.
